It is hard to get motivated to do any type of athletic event or race in the winter time. The Shamrock is such a gamble if you are person who does not really enjoy the cold. I guess I am referring to myself. I am not one to be able to weather the storm unless I am dressed in my tundra-attire. However, what I love about the Shamrock is the spirit and craziness. The length is reasonable as well, perfect for all levels of fitness. Now that I have admitted I have little tolerance workout in the cold, you should know that I have taken advantage of Chicago's other great race - the Hancock Hustle. It is inside!
The Hustle was a fun event. I did it as a team with many of my students from POW! MMA and Fitness. I would suggest this event to anyone. But this year I will be doing the Fight For Air Climb at Presidential Towers. There are a few different ways to train for it and I like that they ally themselves with one charity. In general, I support all of these events andhope that you will consider one of them. If you are training for one of these stair climbs, please feel free to share your training program. I would be happy to post it for all CN readers.
