Timeline of Boston history
Boston was founded on September 17, 1630, by Puritan colonists from England.<ref name=\\\"history\\\"/> The Puritans from the Massachusetts Bay Colony are often baffled together with the Pilgrims, who launched Plymouth Colony ten years before in what is these days Bristol County, Plymouth County, and Barnstable County, Massachusetts. For instance, shortly following Boston\\\'s settlement, Puritans launched America\\\'s first manifeste faculty, Boston Latin School (1635),<ref name=\\\"BPS\\\" /> and Americas oldest school in ongoing existence, Roxbury Latin School (1645).
